This article tells how spirit leaders of a great service organization have sought to guide us and share their knowledge of spiritual truth. It explains how they most recently communicated with Michael Flagg of San Francisco, through famous medium Leslie Flint and others, which led to the much-praised book of spiritual teachings, Spiritual Light.

This letter by John Finnemore introduces the unusual communications received by Michael Flagg from Illumined Souls and outlines their high spiritual purpose. It explains how the communications occurred, how they led to the USB as an organization and to its book, Spiritual Light, and why its teachings should be of interest to investigators of the paranormal. The letter appears in the Correspondence section of Volume 81, Number 1, pages 62-64.

Peace in a Science Dominated Society
Citing Spiritual Light, this academic paper by Professors Singh and Finnemore expands upon their conference paper (item 13 below) and proposes that heightening our spiritual awareness is the way to restore inner peace in an age when materialistic pursuits and desires for instant gratification dominate, which lead to compromising our principles and thence to conflicts. It emphasizes the need for harmonious relationships with nature, and how modern technology tends to thwart these.

12. The CORNERSTONE, 10 April 2015. Book Review of Spiritual Light
In this book review, posted on a website of the Unification Theological Seminary Alumni Association, Tony Scazzero discusses the USB’s main goal, why its principles don’t appear to be man-made, and why it is not linked with other established groups. He describes Spiritual Light as an example of how enlightened spirit teachers are trying to help humanity on earth. Finally, he lists the USB’s nine principles and seven purposes.

In her third article about Spiritual Light, on pages 7 and 10, Betty Phillips asks us to consider our life’s purpose and to spread the power of the Great Spirit through all humanity by giving service to our fellow human beings. She discusses the USB’s teachings on issues of modern life, its mission to bring us peace on earth, and the need for Spiritual Light.

In her second article about Spiritual Light, on pages 1 and 9, Betty Phillips writes about afterlife and the spirit world, including evidence for them. She discusses mediums, their spirituality, spirit guides, and the joys of spirit communication. She concludes with descriptions of one’s return to the spirit world and subsequent life there.

In an article on page 9, Dr. Betty Phillips, psychologist, introduces readers of this North Carolina online newspaper to “Spiritual Light from the highest heavens.” She discusses its leaders in spirit life and on earth; our spiritual path and work to be done here; the need for the USB’s book Spiritual Light and who it is for; and its easy readability and emphasis on truth.

On page 2, Michael Tymn, the editor-in-chief, mentions Spiritual Light extensively in his editorial. John Finnemore’s article on pages 4-5 tells of: Michael Flagg’s visits to England for sittings with top mediums, his amazing spirit visitors, and the surprising mission they explained to him. His subsequent work in California, establishing The Universal Spiritual Brother&Sisterhood (USB), its principles and purposes, and his distribution of regular USB newsletters.
